MDI Vietnam trading activities specialize in agricultural and handicraft commodities from Vietnam that deliver strong pro-poor benefits. This includes products that are produced by farmer groups and rural small and medium enterprises. MDI aims to be the bridge that will connect the potential of local production to an international market. MDI has recently been certified as the first Fairtrade certified exporter and processor of cashew kernels in Vietnam, and as a Fairtrade certified exporter and processor of tea. MDI is also the first Vietnamese Fairtrade licensee which can develop labeled Fairtrade products. In addition, MDI is Utz Certified for coffee trading and export, and we are working with a number of producer groups and processors to develop a Fairtrade production and trading system for Arabica coffee.
